The Iowa Raptors FC are pleased to share some exciting news about the return of José Michel Fajardo. Jose has signed a new two-year deal to return as our men’s Head Coach.
Fajardo made his coaching debut with the Iowa Raptors in the 2020 season, guiding the Raptors to a 5-1-2 record in the regular season. Under Fajardo’s leadership Raptors FC lifted a trophy, earning the Midwest Central Division title. Winning the Central Division propelled the team to go on and win in the National round of 32, intimately loosing out in the Round of 16 of the UPSL National Tournament.
Last year we had success, but we fell a little short in the end. There were a lot of good results, a lot of positive things, and that’s something we want to continue to build on and we believe it was important that José returned.
“It was our first year, we know we need to learn from what we did not do, but also be very proud of what we accomplished. Now a base of players will know me, how I work and what I expect. Our training sessions are always demanding, but the players like them because they see a rapid improvement. Players are at this league because they either love the game, want to improve to go to the next level or because they want to do better in college. So, my priority is that everyone gets out being a much better player than when they got to me.” José said.
