Raptors Finish #2 in the Nation

It was an action packed weekend in Mesquite, Texas, as your Raptors made it to the Championship Game before falling to the Chihuahua Savage II.

As part of the M2's first ever Championship Weekend, the league's top teams gathered in Mesquite for an exciting showdown. Your Raptors dominated in their opening match, netting an amazing eight goals in a row as we downed the Amarillo Bombers 10-6. Despite a relatively close final score, your Raptors were never in serious danger despite heroic efforts from Amarillo, who unleashed 32 shots against veteran keeper Brett Petricek.

Jonah Dancer lit up the scoreboard with four goals and an assist; Ronaldo Rojas also netted a pair of goals. Sarrive Rukakiza continued his hot streak, netting an unassisted goal in the middle of the third period. Pat Kelly also played strong, contributing a goal and an assist.\

The Chihuahua attack proved too much in the final game, however, and your Raptors fell by six, 10-4. After scoring the first goal (Bobby Hurwitz, with a nice assist from Angelo Oquendo), your Raptors played much of the game on their heels, getting outshot 35-15.

"It's a tremendous achievement, coming in and nearly winning a championship our first year in the league," said Raptors Head Coach Curt Lewis. "It just goes to show that we're building solid foundations for success in many seasons to come."

With the indoor season coming to an end, both your Raptors and Lady Raptors move outdoors. Both teams will be playing in national leagues this summer. Be sure to keep up with your Raptors here and on social media for tickets, news, and in-depth stories.

Congratulations to your Raptors on a stellar season!
