The Iowa Raptors are expanding their club this coming 2021 outdoor season with the addition of a Women's team taking their place in the Cedar Rapids community!

With the announcement of the Women’s team coming to Cedar Rapids, means lots of planning preparing for the inaugural season! Although the first season will just be exhibition games, it’s nothing our new head coach can’t handle.
To lead the Iowa Raptors Women’s team into its inaugural season, the title of Head Coach was given to Curt Lewis! Curt is currently the Director of Operations at PSC and Head Varsity Boys Coach at Prairie High School. He is also on staff with the Iowa Olympic Development Program.
Curt has been at PSC since 2007 and won PSC’s only State Cup Championship in 2007 with their U19B. He is one of few club coaches in Iowa to have won a State Championship as a player and coach.
Curt has over 25 years of coaching experience at the College and High School level. From 99-01, he was Women's Head Coach at Mt St Claire College and Men’s Head Coach in 01. He led the women’s program to Conference and Regional post season appearances in each of his 3 seasons. His 00 team went 20-4-1 and was named Midwest Classic Coach of the Year in 01. He was Men’s Head Coach at Cornell College from 02-05, leading them to Iowa Conference Playoffs in 02.
Curt is entering his 17th season as Varsity Boys Head Coach at Prairie High School. At Prairie, he is the all-time leader in wins and nearing win #200. He was named Mississippi Valley, Metro, DM Register, IAHSSCA and NSCAA Coach of the Year following the 2017 season. His 2017 team finished 19-1 while winning MVC Championship and finishing the season ranked #1 in IAHSSCA and #5 in USA Today. He was also named Mississippi Valley and Metro Coach of the Year in 2018. He has led Prairie to 3 State Tournament appearances in the past 5 years. Before arriving at Prairie, he was the Boys Head Coach at Clinton Prince of Peace Preparatory from 97-02 and started the High School Girls program there in 2001.
Curt is married to Lisa Lewis and has 2 sons, Mateaus and Gavin.
