This Weekend, Heartland Pride Is on the Line

Attention Jurassic Fanatics! Heartland pride is on the line this weekend as the first place Des Moines Demon Hawks fly in to take on your Raptors.

The Demon Hawks (9-0) are one of three undefeated teams in MASL2 this season, and so far have been dominant: They rank third in goals scored (77), second in goals against (21), and second in goal differential (+56). They have players near the top of the leaderboard in every statistical category; GK Rainer Hauss leads all keepers in Goals Against Average (2.83), Save Percentage (.841), and wins (8). The last meeting of this fierce but friendly rivalry, in Des Moines on February 14, was a 11-4 Demon Hawks' victory.

But your Raptors certainly don't lack for firepower. Forward Ronaldo Rojas is tied for first in both goals (19) and total points (24); he's tied with Raptors teammate Jonah Dancer for first in game-winning goals (3). Your Raptors have also developed a league-wide reputation for gritty last-second heroics, downing the Wichita Wings first in an overtime thriller, then a shootout, during our last home stand in February.
