Raptors Roundup: Tough Road Loss

Tough Loss in Wichita. Saturday night's battle of the unbeatens had to end with one team's first loss; unfortunately your Raptors ended up falling 10-9 to the Wings.

Park City Arena saw furious back-and-forth action all night before a penalty kick by Wichita's Jared Robbins with just under three minutes remaining beat Raptors GK Ymaury Casillas for the game winner.

The hard-fought game resulted in a barrage of penalties, with ten blue cards and a red card issued in the contest. Each side got five blues, but Wichita was able to convert on two more of their penalty chances, including the game winner.

Ronaldo Rojas continued his hot streak, netting four goals and an assist. That puts him high atop the MASL2 leaderboards -- he's second in both total points (13) and goals (9) at roughly the midpoint of the season. Jonah Dancer is hard on his heels; he's third in total points (12) and tied for third in goals (7). Dancer added four points of his own on Saturday night, feeding Rojas twice, setting up newcomer Felipe "Flip" Batalla for his first Raptors' goal, and scoring one of his own unassisted to tie the game late in the 4th. Ian Kearney and Sarrive Rukakiza also netted goals for your Raptors, with Beni Mubaki assisting on Rukakiza's.

Upcoming Games: Your Raptors will be looking for revenge when the Wings come into town for back-to-back matches this upcoming weekend at the PowerHouse. The action kicks off after the Lady Raptors' matches, at 7pm on Saturday, January 31, and at 4pm on Sunday, February 1. Tickets are still available for both games.

Your Lady Raptors travel to Des Moines to take on the KC Astras on January 24, before returning home for back-to-back matches, against the Kansas City Astras at 4pm on Saturday, January 31, and vs. Des Moines at 1pm on February first.  Tickets are still available for both games.
