The Iowa Raptors FC are excited to welcome to our next player addition to our 2022 Women’s team, Iowa Native Emma Thompson! Like our last 2 announcements, Emma just finished their first year of college soccer.
Emma Thompson grew up in West Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Valley High School in May of 2021. During her high school senior campaign, she helped lead Valley to a 21-1 record and 3A State Championship as a midfielder and central defender. She was selected to the 2021 Iowa High School All-Star Game, and named Academic All-State. As a sophomore, Thompson garnered Academic All-Conference honors while helping her team to a 15-4 record and state tournament appearance. She played club soccer for Sporting Iowa and VSA where she helped her club to two state finals and played at the U18 Midwest Regionals in summer 2021. Emma was a member of the Iowa ODP team for two years. She plays midfield at Augustana University.
