Your Lady Raptors made a statement in their home opener last night, downing the visiting Quad Cities Rush 3-1.
The Raptors struck first, with an early goal by Alexis Vasquez, and the game was never really close thereafter. Camille Landphair added an insurance goal early in the second, and despite a Rush goal from Emily Bollman with time running down, the Lady Raptors finished strong. Jessica Reinhardt iced the game for the Lady Raptors with a beautiful corner kick goal in extra time.
Landphair was one of the standouts of the evening, as she was constantly around the net. Desire Adams, Sophia Thomas, and Vasquez applied consistent pressure to the Rush's keeper, who was forced to make several acrobatic saves to deny goals. In net for your Lady Raptors, Kennedy Buntenbach was a wall, allowing only the late, all but meaningless goal on a tremendous individual move by Bollman.
Your Lady Raptors were also strong on defense, with Reegan Hess, Jordan Holmes, and Eliza Evans making notable contributions.
Your Lady Raptors are back in action this Saturday, June 3rd, with kickoff at 5pm on John Wall Field at Prairie High School.
