It was a hard-fought game in front of a raucous crowd, but ultimately a few late-game lapses on defense brought your Raptors up just short. The visiting Rochester Lancers managed to score late with their extra attacker, and an intercepted pass resulted in what amounted to an empty-netter for the win in overtime.
Angelo Oquendo was on fire again for the hometown team, netting two goals and an assist. He's now fourth on the team in both goals and total points. The two Raptors immediately in front of him, Ronaldo Rojas and Pat Kelly, managed to hold Oquendo off by scoring twice themselves. Rojas knocked in two goals, while Kelly notched a goal and an assist. Jonah Dancer remains the team's overall point leader, adding an assist on Rojas's second goal. Forward Jesus Rodriguez also scored, with a nice assist from Ricky Orozco.
The overtime loss gives your Raptors a point in the standings, but the L, combined with a Demon Hawks victory over the Lancers on Sunday, drops the hometown team to second place in the MASL2 North division. Rochester remains in third, with 8 total points.
Your Raptors will be back in action on March 3, when we travel to Muskegon to take on the last place Risers.
