The Iowa Raptors is happy announce 3 men’s 2022 outdoor assistant coaches Patrick Kelly, Bobby Hurwitz, and Fernando Pacheco. All three assistant coaches will be available to assistant our second team Head Coach Tyler Turner and our First team Head Coach Jose Fajardo.
Pat Kelly is a current player for men’s outdoor soccer team and a former Major Arena Soccer League(MASL) professional player. Pat has played 5 professional seasons with 4 of those in the MASL with both the Kansas City Comets and the Cedar Rapids Rampage. He has played 7 seasons at the semi-professional level with six different teams playing in various leagues in the US and Europe such as the NPSL, USL PDL, and UPSL.
Bobby Hurwitz is also a former MASL professional player. Bobby spent 5 seasons playing professionally in the MASL From Seattle, to St Louis, to Cedar Rapids where he spent 3 years with the Cedar Rapids Rampage Indoor and outdoor teams, including 6 appearances for the US Indoor National Team. He has 7 years of experience with small group and individual youth soccer, speed and agility training. Bobby also holds his Associates in Health and Fitness.
Fernando Pacheco grew up in Iowa City and played varsity all 4 years at Iowa City City High School. After high school Fernando played D-1 at Western Illinois and received 2 All Conference and a Academic-All American honors. During college, Fernando spent 2 summers with the former Cedar Rapids Rampage United. During those two years he received Western Conference Team of the Year awards. Fernando is entering his 7th season as a UPSL player and 2nd year serving as an assistant coach.
